Top 10 Annoying Opening Theme Songs from TV Shows

As many of you know today there were riots on the streets of Chicago. in protest of Annoying Opening Theme Songs from TV Shows.  We all should have the courage to riot to get these annoying songs banned.

Hopefully today the protests will finally put an end to opening theme songs

Opening theme songs suck. In fact, the longer your show has been on the air the more annoying your theme song will become. Why do you think everyone hates the Simpsons these days? It’s not the show. We love the show. We simply just can’t stand sitting through the theme song one more time so we turn our televisions off.

How many more times are we going to have to hear this…

I would rather listen to Louis Lane taking a dump.

Thank god we can fast forward this crap…can you imagine how annoying TV would be without having to skip through this stuff…the 70’s must have SUCKED.

Top 10 Annoying Opening Theme Songs for TV Shows

10. Theme song for South Park –

Written  by Primus

I love Primus.

Tales from the Punchbowl

is probably one of my top 500 favorite albums ever.

However, this Southpark theme song has overstayed its welcome in the ears of all true hardcore Southpark Fans.

#9. The X-Files Theme Song

This is a song that you can’t really sing, you kinda have to whistle it. The melody is so bad that David Duchivny eventually threatened to leave the show after having to listen to it for seven seasons. The shows producers eventually determined that “The theme song was more important than Duchovny” and David soon left the show.

Still to this day, the truth is out there…we can’t get this stupid song out of our heads.

#8. “Bad Boys” (Theme song for the Show Cops) Written by: Inner Circle

Inner circle really has a limited amount of music they can provide for American TV Shows.  Let’s look at their small discography momentarily:

Studio albums

  • Rock The Boat (1974)
  • Blame It To The Sun (1975)
  • Reggae Thing (1976)
  • Ready For The World (1977)
  • Heavyweight Dub (1978)
  • Killer Dub (1978)
  • Everything Is Great (1979)
  • New Age Music (1980)
  • Something So Good (1982)
  • One Way (1987)
  • Identified (1989)
  • Black Roses (1990)
  • Reggae Dancer (1994) Reggae #2
  • Da Bomb (1996)
  • Reissue: Speak My Language (1998) Reggae #7
  • Jamaika Me Crazy (1998)
  • Montego Bay (1999)
  • Reggae Man (2000)
  • Barefoot In Negril (2001)
  • Log On (2002)
  • State Of Da World (2009)

Look at all of this music.  Yet I bet the only thing you’ve ever heard them sing is,

“Whatcha gonna do when the come for you…”

#7. “Love and Marriage”

(Theme song for the show Married With Children.)

Written by Sammy Cahn.

#6. Muppet Babies

I still can’t get this song out of my head and

it’s been more than 20 years since I’ve heard it.

#5. “I’ll be there for you” (Theme song for Friends)

Written by the Rembrants

Where’s my pitchfork?

#4. “Heathcliff”
I still can’t get this freaking song out of my head.

#3. Malcolm in the middle

#2. The Simpsons

#1. Family Guy

In Dumb and Dumber when Jim Carrey made the most annoying sound in the world…that was the most annoying sound.  Then the Family Guy theme song came around and Family Guy fans were forced to hear it before every episode.

Now thanks to all these TV shows, we all feel like killing ourselves.  I’m just glad that someone has the guts to protest in Chicago. Especially against the song “I’ll be there for you.”

I love family guy and Simpsons theme songs :)… Agree with bad boys – cops…annoying song.

  2. I like the family guy theme song….but it just gets annoying after a while

  3. Are these songs meant to be annoying? I think that’s an advertising ploy. If it can’t be good than make it real bad. They’ll never forget it. Sort of like my love making techniques.

  4. Alex says:

“Love and Marriage” is sung by Frank Sinatra who THE preeminate entertainer of his genation. That version that he sings id from the mid-50’s. I always liked it as Frankis is the Boss. Not Bruce Springsteen. But some of those theme song I just hate to death. The Friends theme for one. But where’s the theme song from “The Facts of Life” That was a piece of crapola!
